ANNUAL REPORT
2023-2024
--- At Haven House Services, we respect everyone who comes to us for help - and many are working toward a fresh
start in life. So while their stories are true, youth names and images may have been changed to protect their privacy.
OUR MISSION: To help youth be safe, supported, and successful
MEET MATEO
Earlier this year, 16 year-old Mateo came Haven House Services’ Wrenn House youth shelter because his
family did not have housing. When he first arrived, he was extremely shy, quiet, and reserved. He
struggled to engage with staff and with the other youth staying at the shelter. Our clinical and non-clinical
staff worked hard to build trust with Mateo, and after a few days he started to open up.
Over the course of the next few weeks, Mateo allowed staff to see more and more of his personality. Staff
were able to work with Mateo’s family to find a safe, stable home for Mateo with a relative out of state.
Mateo left Wrenn House a much more self-assured and confident young man. We feel privileged to be
part of his journey.
